start button not working
Last night my 97 heritage wouldnt start or turn over after being trailered. I might have loosened wires on the right handlebar control. After a few minutes of toggleing the start buton and kill switch it started. Do you thing this is just a loose wire and is this common. Hopeing the trailer ride did some damage and I dont need to replace the whole switch. Any thoughts would be appreciated since I dont mind wrenching on a bike but electrical is something thats gives me a mental block.
Thanks

This is one of the reasons I never trailer mine. LOL What happens if you take a wire from the positive side of the battery to the solined connection on the starter? You can all so come from the big wire on the starter which comes from the battery. Not the easiest thing to do on a softail. If it turns over then you can check at the starter relay to see when you push the button on the handle bars if you are getting voltage to the relay connector. If both these check prove OK check to see if the wire that is hot when you turn on the ignition switch has voltage on the relay plug. If so might have a bad starter relay. They are only about $10 or less.
