Hello Folks,

I bought some quick release side plates and sissy bar on eBay this winter and attempted an install today. Well it seems the side plates are not for an FXD but for some other model. The plates are to wide when I have the sissy bar mounted to them they measure 10-7/8" from out to out and that is about 1" to wide for my application. I suspect the side plates I have are for a wide glide or softail.

If one of you kind folks that owns a '96-'05 FXD could you measure the dimension on yours for a comparison? A wide glide or softail dimension would also be helpful to find out what side plates I do have.

The side plates I have lock on fine without the sissy bar so I'm pretty sure they must be Dyna side plates.
