Default road glide chatter

I just bought a 2012 road glide ultra with only 5000 miles-mostly because my 1999 road king with 225000 miles just broke. With the road glide I am experiencing a couple issues that I have not experienced with other harleys. The problem happens when the bike is fully heated up and I come to a full stop as in a light and I have the clutch disengaged but am still in first gear with the brakes on - the front end will chatter sometimes making a banging noise. The dealership tells me that it is only the cush drive but I believe that they have not experienced the problem at it's worst. When the often loud chatter is happening, I can get it to stop if I shift into neutral or upshift into second. I can help to bring the problem on if I feather the clutch in and out of engagement. A second , perhaps related, issue of less offense is : when I am riding in 4th, 5th, or 6th and under "load" with a moderate roll on and then back off the throttle entirly I experience a clunk. When I role on again there is another clunk. Sounds like a bad U joint on a car. I can't believe the two issues are simple a cush drive symtom or more people would be complaining. Does it sound like a bad compensation sprocket in the primary? The first issue is the most offensive. Any thoughts

It sure sounds like the compensator to me. Have HD check before it fails or falls off! Been known to happen. I'd suggest if your getting the clunk in higher gears, you may also be lugging your motor.
The extremely high gearing on these new wheels makes it fairly easy to lug down the motor, especially hard on compensators. FWIW Fastrider124
