I posted this in the General area as well, but apparently Speedway is trying to make an ordinance outlawing loud pipes in Speedway during events at the track.

I urge readers to contact IMS in fighting this since they are the ones (along with us) that will ultimately suffer.

Is the ordinance for those that rev their engines?&nbsp\\; Not necessarily for loud pipes?

From how I understand it, it's when the officer thinks it's too loud he'll check it with a meter. If it breaks their standard then you get a fine.

A few thousand of us hang out at Pitt Stop Liquors on 16th and Goergetown, we'll be there one last time for MotoGP and then Speedway will take out the intersection. It has been one long and hard party.
&nbsp\\;
People, I go out there every race, the police could arrest tens of thousands of people at every event. You have to be caught fighting or underage drinking to go to jail, and they've let me slide a bunch of times on both.
&nbsp\\;
Come on out, Harelys are all of the way welcome at Pitt Stop and we will more than likely to squeeze a few more in whenever anyone pulls up. The people that own the store are cool as hell and interact with riders and ask them to stop in. I haven't seen the police bother any of us, except to tell some girls to put their clothes back on, and that is only after it starts to get late. I cannot be more sincere, pull up, get off your harley, walk in and get yourself a single serve beer, come back out, sit on your bike, and drink your beer.
&nbsp\\;
The thing with the noise ordinance is some residents are begining to get preminitions of 40,000 (their number, mine is higher) sport bikes doing wheelies and burn outs on 16th street. The police already have enough to lock up more people then they care too. Last sat night a sportbike crashed into the curb in front of Mikes Bar, another good party, and pick himself up and dust himself off and ride on down the street. I am pretty sure that there is an ordinance about that wrote down somewhere.
&nbsp\\;
I even wonder how many bikes will show up and if&nbsp\\;it will come out OK though. About a decade or so ago there were riots when they decided to shut down the party at the Nationals at Indianapolis Raceway Park. I imagine that with all of the youngetsers on sport bikes they will run a tighter show then during May, but that is alot of wiggle room.

Just heard it on the news. I wonder if the Speedway influenced them into withdrawal?

Glad to hear that. They must have been nuts to think that up anyway. Sure they need to keep things under some kind of control but it for sure will be noisy! Hell, it's a race track!
