Default Reverse gear installed!

After buying the 2008 Road King/ Harley sidecar late last year, I decided to install the MMD reverse kit. It all went smoothly after sorting out the exhaust fitment. ( I am now a certified Ninja exhaust nut installer/remover.) on,off,on,off, repeat until it all kind of fits without binding or rubbing. The best part of the install was the TEST RIDE in the sloping, gravel driveway. I had removed the tub from the sidecar frame so I'd have access to the transmission etc.. While experimenting with shifting into and out of reverse I quickly discovered the lean/flip angle of the sidecar is affected by the throttle X 4 in reverse without any weight on the frame. Yep, flipped her right in the middle of the driveway.. No damage, and the rig was a lot easier to flip back onto it's wheels than I thought it would be. Fun, fun, fun! Looking for

2008 RoadKing with 2008 Harley sidecar.
ward to better riding this spring. When I flipped it, It only went over on th crash bars. Whew!

Nice looking rig. More pictures would be great. Bet when using reverse to ride the clutch a bit and take it slow going down hill or turning. Any vehicle with two wheels back one forward gets squirrel going back wards.

Very nice rig you have there. I need reverse to but untill then i have to strategically park it. I love the spokes with that red color. Something to be proud of my friend. Oh and rubber side down from now on.

Well, I'll admit to being more than a bit aggressive with the throttle, It was all fun, until it wasn't... When in reverse and turning the bars, don't gas, it the bars will go to full lock in an instant! More pics of the old girl. I brought her home on a roll back wrecker back in December as a winter project. She had sat for several years unridden and unloved. New tires, new tubes, brakes, fluids, the list goes on and on. But I think she turned out O.K.

As you are learning there is a learning curve to a Rig. And Rigs are different. If set up right once you get it figured out they are a lot of fun. The one you have there looks great.

Sadly, my Ultra is sitting in the corner of the garage, jealous of the attention the King is getting.
