I only own a Heritage myself but, I have always wanted a sportster. I would need a 1200 though b/c I am 6ft 5in tall. I say if you dont NEED to sell one, then don't. Most people have more than one car. Why can't a man have two bikes? Teach the missus to ride then you can swap back and forth.
We have 3 bikes and use them. The v-rod for long trips, the sporty for around town and 2-3 hour trips, and the Nija just for fun. If your married maybe you can get the wife to ride and justify the second bike. When my hubby got the sporty for me, I think it was his way of getting a third bike and hoping I would not like riding. S*cks to be him.
1st you have to find a guy whose lic is suspended and is in debt up the wahzoo - Sportster. Then you need to have a boat you are tired of and find a guy who has a bike he is tired of - voila, Heritage. quite simple actually
Rode the Sportster this morning after riding the Heritage for three days. All I can say is switching back and forth will take getting used to, worlds apart. But in there own way, both are exceedlingly fun. Now if the Heritage just weighed about 300 ponds less!
