OK, class. Need some help to do something with the butt ugly Texas license plate on my trailer. The plate is 12X6. It is currently mounted under the trailer and hiding the spare tire. I mounted it there to get it out of the way and to keep someone from cutting themselves on it. I'm sending the body in for paint this week.
Any ideas to dress the thing up?

Wow! 3 hours later and no ideas. Not even a smartass idea. Not even 1 friggin' joke. I'm thinking of making my own plate, about the size of a MC plate, with a class 3 reflective material, but I don't know how the DPS will take it.
I would make a bracket that mounts to bottom of the tag and under the bottom of your cargo shell. Then move the bracket out far enough towards the back to give yourself clearance to open and close your lid. It would give you a more ground clearance under your trailer. Maybe get some LED trailer brake/turn signal lights http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004NQ49PO/...SIN=B004NQ49PO to put on each side of the tag. Bolts incoperating a LED light http://www.customdynamics.com/illumi...nce_plates.htm and lights into one assembly

Likewise. Frame it and mount it to the bottom half of that cargo shell. Maybe just mount it at the bottom of the frame and make it spring-loaded so you could pull it down and clean the shell behind it.
i have seen plates painted on,pretty sure they arnt legal..making it smaller or modifying it im sure is not legal..check with your dmv..they might have a smaller special plate..otherwise make a recessed mount like the ones minisport trucks use to put the plate in the tailgate..i have seen the kits in fiberglass, get a smoked plastic cover/frame..a replacement for the nasty old plate would help quite a bit

I like this idea. I've got some 4" angle aluminum and see what I can create this weekend. My second choice would be creating my own plate using the numbers from my registered plate, reducing it down to the size of a MC plate. Photoshop can do anything.
