Hacked, Conversions and Trailering"Harley Sidecar, Conversion Trikes and Motorcycle Pull Behind Trailering Enthusiasts"
A forum for the discussion of your sidecar, Conversion Trike or Pull Behind Motorcycle Trailer.
I need to get a sidecar so my kids can ride with me safely. I have 2009 Ultra and love the HD TLE rig but wanted to know if it can be easily removed for solo ride.
If not, any other good companies that can do that?
Hannigan and Spalding claim 15 minutes to remove. No one says how long to reinstall. Problem is you still have the brackets mounted to the bike on the right side, so you have to be careful in turns. Also, sidecars will square off the front/rear tires, not the best for two wheel riding.
It took me about 20 minutes to take the Hannigan Classic sidecar off my wife's FLHT and about an hour to put it back on. All the brackets were left on the bike, so when it went back on everything was still aligned ok. If you take the brackets off the bike you will probably need to realign the sidecar when it goes back on, may take another hour or two.
Did any of you do the "recommended" rake to your triple tree? If you did, doesn't this become a problem with steering when you go back to 2-wheels? If you didn't change the rake, how is your rig for steering?

what do you guys do about the brake line when you remove the sidecar, or do you not run a brake on the sidecar wheel. My hd wsidecar runs hydralic brake on the sidecar wheel so you gotta plug the lines and bleen them

Finally bought a used sidecar and getting it aline having Harley attach brackets and hooking it all up but first need to repaint sidecar to match my Ultra and Bushtec.
