Default Ckutch slipping at high RMP

Sidecar has been on the bike about a month now so I am getting use to riding it and of course now want to go faster, ride 3 people and hit the mountains roads some.

Over the weekend on a solo ride in the mountains I noticed on big hills and when getting up over 65 or so the clutch is slipping.

I know the simple answer is to add a heavy spring plate to the clutch. But that also means the clutch pull is increased. Right now it is a joy to drive with the light clutch. with the amount of shifting I do on back and mountain roads a heavy clutch pull would be a killer.

Any recommendations on clutch setup that can handle the 95" motor with sidecar and still keep the pull at a level I can use all day with out being in pain?

Thanks

Look at this. It will give you more clutch pressure without making your clutch lever pull harder >> http://www.aim-tamachi.com/home.php?cat=3

PS I see your in Montgomery Village, I was born in Montgomery county and grew up in Germantown. Dont miss any of that traffic mess there, 270 or on the beltway

Hello
I spoke with a Barnett rep at a bike show last summer about a clutch for my trailer that I tow and he was very helpful. You might give them a call and see what the offer based on you needs, light lever pull and such.

+1 on the VPC!! Works for me! I've been using it for over a year on my TG and the reduced pull is much easier on my arthritic hand.

+2 on the Variable Pressure Clutch. Simple bolt on , reduced pull, and positive lock up. My wife loves it on her trike.Check out the install procedure with pics on the AIM VPC. Search "Variable Pressure Clutch Install" in the TriGlide forum .

Since you mentioned that your only slipping at the higher speed. Use this stuff.

With the limited info in your original post. When clutch slips at higher RPM's it's an indication of a weakening diaphram spring.

I only mentioned the B&M to use. As for my self I added the barnett racing clutch spring. The force increase that they say will cause 25% more in the increase of the lever. I didnt even notice the difference. This is what I did for my trike and I used the that B&M with it.
