Default Street 750 clutch adjustment

Just rode my 750 for the 1st time today and while everything was great, I noticed the clutch cable needs a bit of adjustment. Neutral is almost impossible to find (unless the bike is off) and the sweet spot is way at the top of travel, barely pulling the lever in. I'd like it a bit closer to the bar if possible. Don't have my service book yet. Any help? Thanks!
**Also would like to remove some of the slop in the throttle grip.

Took care of the throttle slack but I can't find neutral at all with the engine running. Easy to pull it up to neutral once I turn it off. Got a nickels worth of slack at the lever so what gives? Seems to be a common problem..

I hear you, I'd prefer my clutch to catch about halfway through the lever movement. It's so weird with it engaging so far out.

Talked to service today and they said the street has a finicky clutch basket that has to "wear In". He swears it gets better over time and by 500 miles it should drop right in to neutral. I adjusted it a bit yesterday and can now find neutral at a stop with it running, though I have to mess with it a bit. Throttle was a bit loose but I remedied that quickly. Still not sure about the clutch engaging so far out. May try different levers if I can't adjust it in a little closer. Wear in and another adjustment may help as well. All in all its a nice bike though! Just needs a little extra love out of the box to make it right.

I have a month old 2017 Street 750 with the same clutch issue. I hope it gets better once it passes the 500 mile "break in". Mine had trouble getting into neutral (or so I thought) but it was going into neutral and not showing on the indicator every time. The dealer replaced the switch for the indicator and it shows up now, but still an occasional miss on getting it into neutral, especially from 1st. Seems easier going down to neutral.

Mine is also easier going to neutral from 2nd. When the bike is off it'll drop right into neutral. Doesn't feel the same when it's running. Someone told me you need a certain amount of space between the plates for it to drop into neutral. Maybe it's true we need to wear in the clutch as it's too tight. That would make sense. Time to hit the twisties!

After tightening the clutch lever screw and adjusting the cable mine is starting to engage about half way. I'd still prefer it to engage a little further in, but maybe it will get better with wear.

it doesn't "wear in"
I've put 10k miles on mine and its still hard to put into N unless the bike is moving.

i spoken with 2 dealers that have just said " yep, sorry can't do anything about it"

I have a friend at a different dealer that can probably make it somewhat better. I think k over time a company will come out with a different clutch pack, if that would help. All I really need is the engagement point moved a bit closer to the bar. I'll try to get that done in a week or 2.
