Well, I've just spent the last hour reading about the PCIII and some of the problems peeps are having. I've already quite a few post that people are NOT having problems. Well, I've got a PCIII sitting here that's "supposedly" already been mapped to my specs...we'll see.
Question...being that I've never had one of these and by the change that mine works great...what are the three buttons on the front for?
You can alter your map with those buttons. You should have an instruction sheet showing how to use them.
In your case I wouldn't touch them as you already have a map that should be pretty close. Any changes you make should be with the software provided and hooked to your computer.
They are for altering your map without a Laptop sort of "on the fly" if you will. I hope that it works for you and am certainly interested if it does! Wanna trade ;-)
@ Dr. J...yeah, I read all of your posts...this morning and the PCIII is sitting here waiting to be installed. Oops We'll see tomorrow if it works or not.
One thing...my new V&H's are made for the 07's...it has the O2 sensor ports in them. I was planning on using my O2 sensors...shouldn't be a problem, should it?

Did you tell the person that made the map you wanted to use the sensors
and not use the eliminators?

I may be incorrect, but I don't think that you have no choice with the PCIII...you will have to use the O2 Sensor Eliminators that came with your PCIII kit...there are only a handful of systems that allow the O2 Sensors (narrow bandwidth closed loop system) to not be eliminated...i.e. the SERT and TM...
That said, I hope that it all works out for you, it seems that it works well for most people...unfortunately that still leaves me out my $$$ and with a non-functioning fuel management system.
Unless Power Commander has made significant changes in the current version of the PC III you will not be able to use the O2 sensors. That is why they include the O2 sensor eliminators. The SERT will allow the use of the OEM narrow band sensors and the TM (Thunder Max) is a complete closed loop ECM/EFI controller replacement system that uses wideband O2 sensors and can correct or fine tune in real time. AZ Rider is correct you may want to look over the installation and tuning instructions before you get started.
