Hi Doc1, I voted in your poll. We do have an excsee of hammerheads that call themselves tech's, This is true. But there are underlying issues epa, fed violatios etc. (big fines). I work in the trucking industry pardon for the off issue. In my industry we are dealing with low sulphur diesel, egr on 07 trucks re: leaner emissions hotter engines, oil particulate/carbon conamination in crankcase, higher mainrenance, lower engine life, higher unit cost, etc It has turned my industry on its ear. Back to the chase. I have an 07 ultra. do some of these last mentioned issues ring any bells?? I do beleive that even your best techs have their hands tied behind their backs. They can sell you the sert, but legally cannot modify the engine to fully utilize the sert cal maps because they would be defeating the emission controls manufactured per fed regs. kind of like catch 22. It seems to me that it is probably a gray area for them to even install the sert on an emission controled vehicle, let alone tune for performance at any acceptable level.example: changing the closed loop bias modifies the readings from the O2 sencers hence a defeat for the emission control. Answer!! there is none BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING!!! remember! It's womb to tomb!! We would not want to hurt ourselves having fun with our HD's Be careful people!! I just got involved recently with the sert. and hopefuly will be sucessful at tuning.but will not be discussing it with any federal agencies. SORRY for being long winded but this had to be said!! I really like my 07 dyna but the people I bought it from would rather lie than breath. Not enough room here to give examples-maybe one-they are sticking cobra 2000s on everything saying it's the "ultimate" fix for lean. I just wonder how hard they try to dial all 3 pots in. I wouldnt let them air my tires.
