Hi all, I recently purchased a 2012 Softail Slim with V & H Big Shots and a SE Heavy Breather. Bike runs great and am very happy with it. I assume the bike was tuned when the pipes and breather were fitted but just want to know if there is anyway to check other than to go into a dealership as it didnt come with the physical tuner. I will be heading to a dealership at some point but would like to save the time if possible. Ive read heaps of threads but no real answers. I did try seeing what the rev limiter is at (as much as I hated it) and it reached approx 6025rpm if that helps. Any responses would be much appreciated!!!
Stock redline should be about 5800, so yours has been tweaked somehow. Whether it was a dealer download or a flash tune you might not be able to tell without going to the dealer. You can try calling the dealer and they can look up your VIN in the database and see if it had the download.
Look at how small the area is at the butterfly in throttle body. The stock air filter is more then enough area for that. And since only the atmosphere is pushing in, it can only get so much in. The piston driving the exhaust out is going to clear pretty much about the same.
The fuel short term and long term with the MAP and temperature sensor can figure it out once it goes into open loop. Older systems like mine can probably benefit slightly since they do not have oxygen sensors and are always in closed loop. PS..may have that open and closed switched..seems to always throw me.
