Pinging/Preignition
Believe I hear pinging when coming on the throttle.
How is this dealt with on these newer bikes without
a physical adjustment to the timing?
Thanks in advance!
Terry
Shortcuts, such as canned maps, borrowed maps from similar builds, guessing at values to put in the calibration, hopefully fixing something....Do Not Work as claimed....just too many variables from one bike to another to expect any bike to run as smooth and responsive while providing great mileage.

-Fuel quality (fuel formulae changes over years and during each year w/seasonal additive packages, including ethanol in many locations).
-Too aggressive timing advance especially around peak torque (3000-4500 depending)
-Lean/hot running (tune is off or bad sensor or low fuel pressure causing lean condition.
The best place to take your issue is to a qualified, experienced tuner to diagnose, repair, and tune your bike so you can enjoy the fruits of the mods done for performance enhancement.
I believe this is the absolute best advice for your situation,
Bob
Do you know what or if any engine work has been done to the bike? If no it might pay to find out as much as you can as it would be good for the tuner to have a starting line in place especially with cams.
Do you know if it has already been tuned or has a device attached to the bike? If no did you get a black, orange or blue dongle maybe in the saddlebags? If yes then it will pay to ask the tuner if they tune with that device as not all tuners are comfortable using all devices and may try to tell you that you need a new tuning device.
Have you taken the side covers off and looked to see if it has a stock ECM or a Power Commander hooked up? Once again this would be useful in selecting a tuner.
Looking under the sidecovers and being that it was 2007 it might even have a Thundermax or a DTT ECM in it as they were very popular back then especially the Thundermax. The Thundermax is good if you like to tinker but for the normal user who doesn't want to do much it can make the bike a very thirsty unit. We used say the only thing a Thundermax won't go past is a gas station

So knowing what you have or what might have already been done to the bike will save you time and money when you start asking tuners if they can tuner your bike.
All tuners are not equal and you bike may well be stock with a non functioning O2 sensor and/or even had O2 sensor eliminators fitted which once again were popular when that bike was released.
Anyway good luck with the bike.
I don't think the guy who I got the bike from knows anything except the bike was upgraded to 103"
Before leaving the dealership new in Washington State.
It does have Rinehart True Duals installed.
The guy I bought the bike from said there was a new/different box installed underneath...between the planels?
To make it run the best and help with fuel economy.
I haven't had the side panels off yet. Do they just pull off?
I've only had the bike for a little over a week and it just turned 29000 Mi.
I changed the Air Cleaner with a K&N and Changed the Engine oil and Filter.
Thank You,

Sounds like it has PC3 or a Thundermax installed take a photo under the sidecovers and under the seat so we can see if possible.
Just a guess it might be a 103" with a 255 cam from Harley as that is what some dealers where doing back then but as I said just a guess as I am not clairvoyant
