Default Ok, what did I do wrong...

Flashed the bike this morning with a new MAP specifically for the setup I have with the FP3, ran great. Decided I would try the AutoTune feature.

I rode the bike for an hour or so under MANY different conditions, got quite a few boxes to turn green, great. I stopped and hit 'save' and 'finish'. Great, that was easy... Until later I noticed that my phone had a message telling me that the AutoTune was still running, so I went into the app to shut it off.

It shows a MAP called AutoTune generated from #2 saved MAP which is the MAP I loaded this morning. I click on it, the FP3 goes thru it's turn the bike off, turn the bike back on, etc... only there is nothing showing up on the AutoTune screen. It's like it didn't save anything, no orange or green boxes and is apparently starting an AutoTune session from scratch, I know that because I started the bike and and it didn't like taking any throttle at all. I just reflashed with the MAP I loaded this morning before the AutoTune session I ran.

What did I do wrong, appears I didn't actually save the AutoTune session like I thought I did, or is it something else?

Does the bike run differently? Better or worse?
If it runs the same you didn’t get it done successfully.
If it runs worse check to be sure your rear o2 sensor (black connector) is in the rear pipe and visa versa.
If it runs better...repeat your autotune session.

After flashing with the MAP for the Rush mufflers it felt better than it did running the Twin Slash MAP I had been running, and after running the AutoTune I feel the bike ran slightly better, throttle response was smoother/crisper. After I saved it the bike ran great coming home, I noticed later this afternoon my phone was saying the session was still running.

It was pretty bright out today and a little hard to see the phone's screen so maybe I didn't correctly save the AutoTune session. I'll try it again as IMO it did make enough of a difference to be worth it.

Did you click the lightning bolt symbol when you flashed the autotuned map?

Uh, no... that must be where I screwed up. I remember hitting save then finish or whatever the wording is.

It did show that there was an autotune MAP based on the Rush muffler MAP. But as I said, it was blank when I went back to it so, looks like no hitting the lightening bolt icon is the problem.

So hitting the lightening bolt icon is first, then the save/finish?

I appreciate your input. Thanks!

Any changes I have made to a map has a lightning bolt to install and save changes. I've never did a auto tune as mine runs great with the canned map, so autotune might not include the lightning bolt like throttle, firecrackers for decal pop or changing the rpm limits. When I click the lightning bolt, It goes through a reinstall of the map with the changes.

I've been reading a thread over on Streetglide.com. Good thread by a guy using the name Spazz. He explains that when you hit 'apply' it applies the learned data to the MAP you're auto tuning BUT it will wipe the screen clean of the orange and green cells BUT does not end the auto tune session. Hitting 'finish' does that.

That would explain why my phone was showing an icon saying the auto tune session was still ongoing. I downloaded the user manual for the FP3, and no where does it mention hitting the lightening bolt when wanting to save an auto tune session.

So apparently I was ok with what I did when I hit 'apply' earlier today. Where I screwed up I guess was when I tried to get rid of the icon off my phone and was concerned none of the orange and green cells were showing up. I'm back to the Rush muffler MAP, and will do another auto tune session.

Here's a link to the thread on Streetglide.com if anyone is interested.

I have a quick FP3 autotune question. I ran a tank through and started my second. At first when I opened the app after a beating I had all orange block but never hit limiter and a big patch of green in the center. I rechecked another day all gone just 2 straight lines of orange top to bottom. seems the it changes everytime? Does it start an autotune every key cycle? or is mine dropping the info. Do I have to do it all at 1 key cycle? I will say my tank DTE went up almost 20 miles since starting. Any help/info would be a great help

The AutoTune session will persist through multiple cycles of the ignition, as we occasionally get people at rallies who've left it on for 1K miles or more. Data learned is stored in the FP3 and not your app, so you don't need to worry about connecting through bluetooth each ad every time you run the bike.

The two columns of orange sounds like a software bug tbh. I would recommend exiting the app with a force close procedure to ensure it's all the way shut down, then taking another look at the data once the app is reopened.

I just lost all green I had to an almost all grey cells. like if I walk out to the bike right now I bet you the whole thing is blank again? There was 1 time i only had 2 green lines top to bottom also. has said it needs an update? I have it under my seat and been checking after to and from work rides. the first day I reall hammered on it thats when the middle was all green and most was orange. Ill try and shut it down and recheck after I ride home and ill apply and see if it retains
