I have a chance to pick up a used FuelPak tuner from a 2008 FXD for what I THINK is a "decent" price, but it looks like an older unit, and I'm not sure it would help or even "fit" with my '13 Dyna SuperGlide FXDC. When asked if it has to be "married" to the bike, the owner said not this one, but I'm just not sure. How can I tell, and what would be a good price for one? Hopefully, someone here can help.
Here's a pic, if that helps:

That is a Fuelpak LED, and is currently one of our legacy models. That particular unit does not marry itself to any one bike, but it doesn't do nearly as much as the Fuelpak FP3 which is compatible with your bike. I would recommend getting the FP3 for you application all day over the LED model.

Thanks. So, I understand it might be "limited" in what it can do, but would it be difficult to "tune" this unit with my bike, and would it be able to increase performance? I just don't think I can afford an FP3, since they're closer to $300, when this unit is going for less than half that, which I could barely afford.

It's around your price point and would be new, but would essentially only modulate fuel. Appropriate maps for your combination can be found at https://fuelpak.vanceandhines.com/legacy/
Unless your bike is running so lean that it's in danger of melting a piston, save you money until you can buy a more capable tuner. I had one of those LCD fuelpaks and couldnt get it to run right...it was either great on top but a dog on the bottom or vice versa. I then went to a pc5 with not very good results. So at that point I was over 500 bucks in and the bike still ran like crap. I won't recommend one tuner over the other but I highly recommend buying one of the better ones available...fuel pack, power vision or something along those lines. I ended up dyno tuning and couldnt be happier. Do your research while saving and do it right, once. My grand pappy always said "you can buy good tools once or cheap tools again and again ".

Appreciate all the advice. Thanks. Sounds like I'll need to save up my "allowance", so I can get a "good one".
