Default PCIII Question re Throttle set

A few weeks ago I installed a new PCIII from FuelMoto with a preloaded map, the machine runs great, a little rich which I fixed by pulling the PCIII, using my desktop with the 9Volt battery adapter, and loading a modified version of the original map. Machine stills runs great.
However, I have never set my throttle positions. On the bike, the green bar at idle throttle position is on the second one from the bottom. Should this be on the bottom instead? And is there any good way to make this adjustment without buying a laptop? My desk computer is about 40 feet from the bike when it is in the garage, maybe I could get a 40 foot USB cable? Probably cost more than a cheap laptop...
Am I OK with the green bar on position two at idle throttle? The machine runs just perfect.

My 2 cents,

You really do need to set the throttle position(s) to line everything up. In other words 0 TP (idle) should be at 0 so the settings in the map are aligned with actual TP.

See if you can get a friend with a laptop to do the calibration or I guess you need to go with the big a$$ USB cord.

I did mine with the bike running. Some do it with the ignition on (bike off) and 9v power adapter powering the PCIII.

If you're curious, before resetting my TP after the install, my TP at idle indicated 4 or 5% on the software. Therefore, based on my understanding, my cells values would be off as I manipulated the throttle since closed throttle was already at 5%.

As for the green bar indication, I haven't really paid too much attention since I do use my old laptop to talk to the system. Hopefully, someone else will chime in.

The PDF manual file doesn't say anything about it. The paperwork says "When the bike is running the indicator lights... only indicate throttle position. At full throttle the lights will not reach the top of the display." I just went out and checked. Mine do not reach the top at full and at idle it's the fourth from the bottom that's lit.

I, too, had installed the unit and not set the TPS. I'd gotten about two miles before I remembered so turned around and did it. It also read about 4 or 5 percent when I first hooked the computer to it.

I don't know what to make of the indicator lights. I'd never watched them in operation before just now. Now I'm wondering...

Is there a window in the room where the computer is located, and if so can you ride the bike to that window? USB is good for 5m without an extender, which can give you another 5m or more. Or, remove the PCIII and take it to the computer using the 9V battery adapter. Setting 0% and 100% TP is important for the reasons given, and I have not been able to get a good 100% setting with the engine running, as you must blip the throttle too fast for it to register. I attach the 9V battery and turn on the ignition without starting the motor, which gives you the time needed to get a good 100% setting. Before setting, 0% was at 7% and 100% was way off, and I haven't heard of anyone who's had TP set properly right out of the box.

Like LeeFLHX, I don't use the indicator lights, but they can be used to adjust A/F manually if needed without a computer. To put into program mode, with igntion off push all three buttons, start the bike or install the 9V adapter, then release the buttons. Once in program mode, each button represents 1/3 of the map (low, medium, and high). To go richer (LED up) you push the button quickly once, and each LED line represents 5%, so it isn't a precise adjustment like using your computer. To go leaner, hold the button down longer and the LED will drop.
