I retained the H-D security system purchased for my '02 Electra Glide and would like to install it on my new '07 Road Glide. Does anyone know if it can be done? I had to remove it from the new RG after it would not allow the engine to run longer than a second or two, after the third attempt it wouild give the solid red key indicator and refuse to start again. The lights worked and the siren worked correctly. I looked up and performed the authenticate sequencefrom the electrical manual for the '02 and all of the same stuff happened again. I didn't use it much on the '02 but was glad to have it. All of the connections are the same and it appears that the only difference is the proximity key fob feature.[/align]
First off... Welcome .... Please post an intro in the NEW MEMBERS Section at your earliest....
The TSSM will NOT work on the 07, as it is a completely different system....
Spend the $$$$ and get the correct module....
Should you choose to get the correct TSSM, the dealership will need to program it and the FOBS, as it is all done via a PC connected to the Data Link using proprietary software....
Looks like Bob is right, you need to let your HARLEY DEALER install a new alarm for you especially if you have my mechanical knowledge because I could not install a alarm, and you probably mess something else up, but if you are half as smart a HARLEY TECH. as Bob, you could buy one and save a lot of money on labor, he knows how to do everything a good MECH. needs to know and if you have his skills go for it! But they are few to do the work he knows to do, I can change my FLUIDS and plugs, and I feel good just to be able to go that far! GOOD LUCK!! PURPLE HAZE.
