Have some quick questions. I have a 96 road king that I am replacing ignition module on. Question1: why would someone cut existing purple wire and attach new quick disconnect and run wire to coil? Question2: I purchased the dynatek DS6-1 to replace crane cam hi-4 that crapped out. My question is when purchasing it said it for my bike and has the cup attatched to cam. but it looks to be adapted for the pre 90s magneto that pops through the hole in center of module. Not sure how to go about install with it. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I can't find anything online.
The ds6-1 was meant to replace the points on a points ignition system. It requires the addition of mechanical advance weights when replacing other purely electronic ignition systems.
Also if I revert back to stock weight setup can I reconnect wire back to where it originally goes or is that there in place for my s&s carb on my bike?
