Default Stock fuel pump flow rate and pressure .

I’m in need of some information ..
I have a fresh build on a 2007 Softail 124 inch twin cam .. originally a 96 inch . I’ve been having fuel pressure issues and I’ve replaced everything inside the tank with new . The pump I used was from a company called The Fuel pump Factory . It’s supposed to be an Oem type replacement , plug and play . I’ve replaced the problematic plastic fuel pump housing with a Trask billet type to eliminate any leaking.. been inside the tank with a bore scope to insure it wasn’t leaking anywhere. It’s not leaking.. But I’m only able to get 53 psi of fuel . It’s steady and holding while I change rpm’s .. And it’s supposed to be 58 to 62 psi . My question is , how many lph does the Oem pump deliver and Am I right , thinking I need a bigger fuel pump . Or maybe just a better one … The bike has the HPi 62mm throttle body with the yellow band 6.2 injectors.. So I’m thinking I need a pump that delivers more fuel . More than the Oem ..
And if So , where would be a good place to find a pump that’ll fit without a lot of modifications , if any ? Thank you in advance

Pressure is set by the regulator. Maybe your new regulator is a little low.

I’ve tried two different regulators and it’s at the same level . So that’s why I’m looking at the pump .. It’s having a hard start issue when it’s at operating temp . And with the pressure at 53lbs , I’m thinking it has to be the low pressure.. like I mentioned in the original post . Everything is new .. The throttle body , injectors, the pump , the filters , the regulator and the regulator housing. And All the lines inside the tank , with a new quick release fitting at the base of the tank . Even the engine is new . I feel like I’ve covered All bases . That’s why I’m leaning towards the pump . Plus , the larger injectors and throttle body . I tested the pressure at different rpm’s while running.. so I’ve checked it closely

One thing to note is that you really need to look at the fuel pressure while the pump is running.. On the 3 efi bikes I owned, the pressure would be around 60 when running but as soon as the pump stopped they would drop to 50-55 and hold.. IMO this is good..

not enough lph would causing leaning out when running underload. The bike would hold back and run hot.The fuel pressure seems good ( especially for starting), you need to tune the bike for the start issue.

You see , mine is running at 53 , throughout different rpm ranges .It holds close to that , maybe 50 after you shut it off also .. And .. It’s supposed to be 58 to 62 . I’ve got a quality gauge and I’ve went inside the tank with my bore scope to be sure there are no leaks . And there’s none .. I’ve tried three different regulators .. So I’m thinking the pump just isn’t delivering … Any thing to add ?

it sounds like the only thing to do is put a different pump in it and run your tests again and compare results.

Maybe the aftermarket pump is the problem. My stock pump is made by Denso and they are good.
