Default Low RPMs.

Hey guys ...
i have a 2023 Fatbob 114...1500m on the clock.

Aftermarket parts :-
S&S Slips Ons
Sreaming Eagle Breather
Flashed a tune with the PV4.

The bike runs fine with the tune ive flashed from the PV4,I have no issues apart from the RPM idling speed.
Before I installed the PV4, the idling speed was erratic, it would fluctuate between 1050/930rpm and quickly drop in and out of high 800rpm.
Felt like it was hunting a little.

Now with the PV4 installed, the reading is fluctuating between 820/900rpm. and sometimes drops quickly in and out of high 700rpm.
On ticking over the engine feels like it's about to stall, of course it doesn't for its a very quick action.

The bike has recently had the 1000m break in service at the dealers and I did mention the idle speed to them.
They where ok with it nothing wrong at all,no error codes appear they said and yes i agree with them, there is no error codes for both asking the bike and using the PV4,both actions state no errors.

Quite stuck here guys.
I'd be happy with a higher RPM idle speed of around 1050.
Do I need to visit a mapper?
Will that cure the idle speed or do I have an engine issue here?

Thanks...
Taz

a couple of points
IAC could have an issue either mechanical or electrical
the base setting on the butterfly could be an issue. been awhile since i ride gravity but i believe there is a covered torx screw to set base opening.
the map sensor can cause issues. there is a window that must be passed before a code is set. it could be electrical or a leak so look at o-ring seal or if remote a hose.
kiss it before dropping coins.

You are describing a tuning issue at 500-1000 rpm. When the engine rpm dip below 1000 the AFR is too lean so it gets ready to die but the system attempts to recover by adding throttle so you get that up/down rpm behavior.
By manually addressing the issue you will correct the lean condition so the engine is ok with lower than 1000 rpm.
Let us know what you find,
Bob

Send Dynojet technical assist an email and ask about the low RPM, they may want you to send your tune so they can look or modify it to steady the idle RPM. Or they may say it is not the tune and direct you towards the issue. Anyhow, they are real good at what the do and get back to you quickly. Your PV4 should have the contact information or you can go to their website.

Could this be a symptom of the leaking plastic intake manifold?

Would this be covered by the Warranty, has to be in my opinion
How would I address this issue manually?
Is it a simple process of adjusting the idle screw or is this something a tech has to deal with?
I'm guessing if i keep riding and ignore this issue, I'll no doubt be causing damage of sorts.

Thanks for the input by the way.... Really appreciate it

I do recall an error code which interpreted as TPS
throttle positioning sensor
Can this create a fluxuation in the idling speed dya think???

I've heard of this.... Do you know how I would investigate this?

Thanks

I know in my PV 2-B I can go into live idle and adjust the desired idle speed up or down. You should be able to do that with the PV4 as well. Here's what I found on Google..
