have got another problem starter sounds like service bay impact wrench when switch is pressed battery fully charged when i put volt metre across terminals its only pulling 10.5 volts release switch and were back to 12. 7 ,all connections are tight earth is good could starter be doomed??[:'(]

Possible,find solenoid.There will be a small wire running to it from relay.Put Black lead there and Red lead to + side of Batt.Hit start button for 1-2 seconds,check reading on meter.Number you see is difference between source[Batt] and destination [solenoid].Want to see a small,1.2.3 number.Thats voltage lost/used up.A big number means not much is getting to solenoid to activate starter causing tat-tat-tat-tat-tat-tat- noise I believe your hearing.Next ohm the relay ground to frame.Remember a fully charged batt doesnt always mean its good.Only a load test is positve proof.That sound you hear is usually low batt,not always,Good luck,Bob

bob stripped and cleaned starter brushes and com got a gentle rub with some fine emery all back together rip,s like a dream and got another battery its good to have help on the forum cheerz and a merry one to you gazza[sm=groupwave.gif]
