Fuel Pump light/poor performance
Hi Guys..New to the website. I have an issue with my 2002 police Road King..The fuel pump light starting coming on while riding and the rpm and performance went way down. It sounds like its not firing right. It has no PICKUP at all. The fuel pump light will come on and the bike just wont run..Any ideas what to check or what may be wrong with it? It is running like crap. I hate to get it to the Harley place (lack of time after work) and it be something simple I can fix. Please Advise if you know what to check or what may be wrong..Female mechanic so be patient with me. Thanks, Jules

In that bike , I would pay attention to the front injector wire about an inch away from the plug on the injector. There were a number of units that the harness was strapped down too tight from the factory and it causes the wire to break inside the insulation from the movement of the rubber mounted engine.

just as a follow up for those experiencing the same type problem. it was the front injector wire, broken due to to tight of a wrap.
however we were able to eliminate some other possibilties due to the information provided here.
