Bob I do believe one of the first tuners allowed 13.5 in the 90kpa ~ 100kpa but they had too many issues with techs leaning out the AFR too much causing engine damage in some cases. The newer tuners are limited to 13.2 in the 90kpa~100kpa plus a fail safe or a protective system was added to protect the engine.....ie.....if you have the AFR at 13.2 and the rider SNAPS the throttle wide open under a load condition the ECM will read the load and how fast the Throttle was opened and it immediately goes to 12.5 AFR in the 100kpa area to protect the engine from damage. Now if you had the AFRset at 13.2 in these said areas and ROLLEDthe throttle on, making the load lighter, the ECM will give you your 13.2 AFR.
I have the E version of the SERT software does it have the 13.2 limit on it?
Reread the instructions on the DTT tuning aid. DTT recommends using the desired AFR tables you are actually going to run when using the Tuning aid. Max out your CLB tables and use the DTT to adjust only your VE tables/individual cells. Timing changes are not traced in DTT. Watch your knock retard activity when testing for that info.
Thanks for responding tothe unansweredpart of my question that I had on this post. Your information has made it clear to me as to what happens with the AFR setting after returning to closed loop. I feel like I understand this whole process a lot better now and can make the changes to my bike with confidence that I am doing it correctly. It is has been raining since last Wednesday and it is supposed to clear up on Monday (I hope), I'm ready to get this done!
Roadhog: You're welcome; but, if I had a question about SERT tuning I'd try PM to Doc1 or BVBOB--I'm in elementary school as a student--they're the college professors. Frankly, there is way too much inaccurate info on these types of boards which, surprisingly, readers take as gospel truth only to learn later they got bad information; worse, they pass along inacurrate information not knowing it's bad information to some other guy who uses it to his regret.

I agree with using actaul afr tables, I have tried it with it set 13.2 across the board and have found tuning to the afr table you want when finished works great.
