I am looking for some input on T-Max tuning and Basic Settings. I have put on about 50 miles since the install and was wanting to know if I should give Auto Tune some time to adjust before I tinker with the tuning and basic settings? I have the 4.6 firmware and a 392 base map on my '07 Electraglide. There seems to be some decel popping in the 2-3000 rpm range. The only mods are Big Sucker A/C and Python slip on's. Thanks for the input.
I'm in a similar situation, I installed my T Max about 200 miles ago. I have 4.6 and the decel fuel cut feature turned on. I am still getting decel pops.
I called Zippers yesterday and they told me you have to set the high and low rpm options under the decel fuel cut feature in basic settings in order for the feature to work. My FXDC does not have a tach so they advised me to start with 1984 for the low RPM and 2496 for the high. I can adjust in increments from those starting points.
I'm going to try it this weekend and see if it helps. I'm also thinking about double checking my exhaust mount flange bolts to ensure they are snug. I might even change out the gaskets to be safe. If the exhaust is sucking air that could be causing the 02 sensors to tell the bike to dump more fuel.
My pipes are Rinehart 2-2 Staggered and my AC is a K&N RK3909. Zipper's reccomended base map 393 for me. Good Luck. BTW, I changed the RPM basic settings but haven't ridden yet, I'll let you know how it goes.
I loaded in the RPM values reccomended by Zippers and had moderate success with the pops.
I scratched my head and then decided to change out my exhaust flange gaskets entirely. Why? Because I had backed them off and then retorqued. In hindsight, I don't think that was a good idea.
After I changed outthe flange gaskets (I used Screamin' Eagle gaskets) I got much better performance, very few, if any, pops or backfires. Tells me I must have screwed up the gaskets by backing off an then retorquing.
So far I'm happy, combination of properly setting the ECM Basic Settings (RPM values for decel feature) and good exhaust mounting.
Hey Rick glad to hear you are having some sucess. Did you load the RPM values as mentioned above? I checked my flanges and snugged them up just a bit. I am heading to the garage now to adjust decel features and see how that goes. After getting some ride time this past weekend my decel pop seems to be more under the 2000 RPM range. I'll work on that area and hope I can get some ride time in this weekend. Thanks Rick...............John
Yes, I did use those settings but I have a feeling that they will need some tweaking as I get smarter and the bike learns. Right now, I'm kinda strapped because my FXDC has no tach. I ordered a tach and will be installing it soon. That will help me pinpoint the right ranges for me to adjust the basic setting values. At the least, it will put me in a position to tell Zippers where (RPM) I am getting pops/backfires and under what conditions.

Hello Rick Last weekend I adjust my Decel features. Low was set at 1984 and high was set at 2496 as a starting point. I got to ride some (50 miles) and there still is some decel pop but not as much. I am going to tweek some more and see how that goes. Slow process as I work on the days that it has been nice and off on the rainy days. Get your tach yet? Later, John
Most important, verify you don't have any exhaust leaks. Then set your zero throttle position, around 10-12 degrees in the tmax software, at all RPMs to 13.5 or richer. This will eliminate the pops. Don't set the decel cut any lower than about 1500 RPM. You'll get a hesitation on your shifts if you do.
