Myson happens to own one of these real good quality backpacks. I just run the wire pinched between the seat and the gas tank and runs under my are and into the backpack. I go to <my computer><control panel><Power options><always on>so that the laptop does not auto shut down in 5 min.

When I dirve about 20 min I get about 5000 lines of data.

Make shure you hit <include 02 data> before you hit start to start recording. When you,<file><export data> select each data fiels on at a time. The first time is real painful. Also go to <setup><display> and choose the top and bottom option so you don't have to go thru the stuff again.

Last get the magalogviewer program so you can see the data. In that program <options><field mappings><Harley Delphi> and you are ready to rock and roll.

Are we talking SERT or ThunderMax. I have the ThunderMax and I can put the cable through the side mount and plug into the notebook, put notebook in a protective bag, put notebook in saddlebag, saddlebag lid will close with the cable in the back. This should work the same on a SERT I would assume.

I was talking SERT. We can also do this charting with TCFI butthat one involves one more slightly geekie step.

Place some plastic air bubble or foam around the laptop in the saddle bag and route the cable to the test port. The cables are small enough that routing under the side cover orunder the seat and through the saddle bag they will not get damaged. Make sure to set the laptop up so that it does not power down if the lid gets closed and the power saving is set to some time longer than you want to collect data for. You can collect different data based on what your looking for so select the proper information prior to starting the recording. Everything you need is already included in the software package to do everything you need to do.
