I have a 2002 Softail Heritage Classic. My running lights on each side of the tail light continually burns out bulbs.I replace them and within a few days they are out again.Can anyone offer a possible solution? I have had it looked at twice at the Harley dealer and they say nothing is wrong.
They aren't running lights. They are turn signals only. They can be used as running lights if you use the Run/Stop/Turn module from HD. Part Number: 69461-06A
Thank you for the feedback. I guess what confuses me is when I replace the bulb they work as running lights for a few days. With that said, I have to believe that the part you are speaking of is on my bike.Additionally, the front turn signals work a running lights and they are working fine. The electrical diagnostics from the dealer show there are no problems. Frustrating...

If you do have the module, then you need to have it checked. If your rear turn signals have RED lenses, then they should have put one in for you.
I believe the early ones did not have running lights. The running lights came about in 2004-2005. I think.
