HELP 08 FXD codes
I have a code popping up that says "no rsp"..The bike randomly starts and thens quits after about 10 seconds..Finaly it will run,but speedo might quit going down the road,and my bus er message constantly pops on the milage window and the check egine light and the key fob and battery light are iluminated..
I have had 2 shops look at this problem,which I will probly take it back to.
The shop tried to jump to the idea that my higher handlebars were tugging on mywire cables going to my switchs,so they only spent about 15 minuts and told me they fixed it and advised me to put my stock bars back on...
As soon as I got the bike home after the second start the bus er came on and I have been lost ever since trying to figure out the problem.
One fellow suggested in the forum that his ignition switch was causing the problem,and after replacing the switch,everything was normal.
I am wondering about the ecm being goofy,like a PC with a virus.
I have some computer machine experience and most of the time the switch is a input to the ECM and like a bulb wold be an output..
I am trying to find a 08 electrical diagram,so I can check the terminations myself.

"Bus ER" according to my elec. diag. manual indicates a 'serial data bus shorted low/open/high' your dealer may not be too far off track if something is tugging on the wire, or wire got pinched during your install of the h-bars. I'm not a mechanic with these things, but check out the connections going into your speedo on the handlebars (FXD right?). Are you getting any other DTC's? I'm looking for the method to check DTCs with the speedo. Send me as much info as possible, and I'll do what I can as far as referencing my book; like I said, though, I'm not a mechanic, just a guy like you who likes to try to fix stuff myself before paying someone.
