Ignition/Tuner/ECM/Fuel InjectionNeed advice on ignition issues? Questions about a tuner? Have questions about a EFI calibration or Fuel Injection? Tips on Engine Diagnostics, how to get codes, and what they mean. Find your answers here.
Do the simple things first. Measure the fuel pressure. You can probably get a bike tech to check it for you for a can of soda or a cheeseburger. If the regulator is not properly bleeding off excess pressure, the injectors will be spraying way more fuel than they should. PM me when you have checked the fuel pressure. Then I will know I can look at this thread again, okay?
Look at the Warmup Enrichment Table in your SERT program....
 \\;
Come on WB... You are the EFI know it all here...... hddave has said it twice here now....
 \\;
If he starts it up and shuts it down, then goes to restart it, the plugs are wet.....
 \\;
OPEN YOUR EYES AND GET HOOKED ON CONSTANANTS.......... It's called Warmup Enrichment..
You are causing it, by interrupting the WARMUP ENRICHMENT Cycle... You are FOULING the plugs, not flooding the motor....
 \\;\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\;
Warmup Enrichment restarts when you start up a motor that is cold... Lots of fuel and little more air... If you shut down during, and then Restart, the cycle starts all over again... IE.. MORE THAN ENOUGH FUEL FOR Startup... which results in fouled plugs...
it shouldnt foul plugs every time i start or restart the bike,somthing is wrong.. its never done this before
 \\;
Buells do it all the time.... MD as well, IF YOU FAIL TO ALLOW THE HEADS to get to OPERATING TEMPERATURE......
 \\;
What do I know... You can follow those that think they know what they are talking about, or from someone who does this stuff for a living.....

i dont have a sert. im runing a pc111..i do understand what you are saying but im saying it shouldnt do this.. it has never done this before.. even in all driving ranges its running rich and has power loss that i can tell is different than before.i did try pulling the pc111 off the bike and plug every thing back the way it was and it still does it so it cant be the pc111 map ..

For kicks I went out to the garage and did this with my 06 Ultra, it fired right up the 2nd time around with no problems. I think the problem is deeper than just warmup enrichment, maybe he's on the ragged edge and might need a tweak \\;it should be able to fire that mixture.

Don't go away mad, there is always things to learn even for those that do it for a living. I'm a supervisor at a chemical plant, I've done my job for 20 years and I'll be the first to say I don't know it all and I'm always open minded enough to listen to others. There is something to learn in this, I'm watching and will be storing it in the back of the head for future times when I might run into it.
Leaky injectors, warm up enrichment, PCIII, etc all are a possibility but so is lack of spark. The next time this happens put a spare plug in a plug wire, ground it and see if there is a spark...do not remove the plug from the cylinder. If there is no spark remove the PCIII and try again \\;
So we are thinking that durring warmup on the first start the bike is on the raggid edge \\;of too to even run so that when it is killed it will never restart. \\; Wow that is fat. Hard to believe but I have seen stranger things... This is normal in the Buell world? People accept that as normal?
its not normal..the bike started fine before and it should be fine now.. i will try new plugs and new wires tomorrow. this will give me an excuse to try the se plugs and the se wires..i will also try to get the bike in to have the fuel pressure checked. i have read a little about the map sensor and im leaning towards it not being my problem now..im thinking either leaking injectores or not enough spark to fire the mix the second time i restart when cold..maybe the plugs are being fouled out cuz of lack of enough spark...
Try this, after the bike has been ran and cleared out, let it set overnight, pull the plugs and look down into the plug hole to see if the top of the piston is wet.
If it is I would say your injectors are leaking down...one way to check without a fuel pressure bleed down test.
I would think anyting else would set a code. Unless it was a internal problem with the ECM.
And yes, you should be able to start a bike and shut it down then restart with no problem.
