2000 Softail. From a cold start (doesn't matter what ambient temp is) I get appr., 10 minutes run time whether it's at a idle are going down the hi-way. Then it just dies as if the ignition has been turned off. After it has set several minutes (5 at least) It will crank back up, but will only run for a few minutes and dies again with same time frame before being able to restart it. I have checked to confirm that it is dieing due to loss of ignition fire. I have replaced the coil and the ignition module, and nothing has changed. I have no problem getting it into a shop, just havn,t been able to find anyone from a dealer standpoint willing to give any info on what the problem really could be. Are what kind of diagnostics they will use to find the problem. I don't see it as being a bad electrical connection, because it is very consistent on the time frames. The entire charging system was R/R placed several years ago and seems to be fine, since the battery never needs to be charged. This can't be the only 2000 model that has done this.

Not to overlook the simplest solution. Last fall on a trip to York Pa. my 92 FLHS started quiting (shut dow) intermittingly. The service guy at the York HD dealer looked it over, installed star washers on the battery teminal bolts and problem gone.
