Pulling the headlight fuse and hooking up the 6 amp trickle charger will take care of those long sessions. Confusing , yes. I'm still trying to figure out the relationships of offsets to the maps. I used to think it was a smoothing feature but there's mention of the offsets being too far away from the tuning blocks meaning the wrong map is installed. Since the autotune uses the base map as a guide to set from why would the offsets not be close to the map blocks. The only thing I can think of is temp and load conditions.
This raises another symtom that I may have experienced. I've richened the mixture to eliminate ping on the hottest days and was succesfull at that. Then, low and behold the ping started to come back. Did the autotune write offsets to screw up my tune and lean it out again? I am now going out to the shed to really screw with my head

Fuel injector and altitude variations. Also, if you don't have the exact same setup as the base map, air flow variations make a big difference in fuel delivery.
Well, I'm back from the shed and still sane. Had a few small tweeks that I wanted to do and did them. Ran through the front and rear offsets and was actually surprised on how close the two match up. The rear is a bit spastic in a couple of the higher rpms but overall I'm pleased. The autotune points anylizer shows everything is as it should be, at least from what I know. I made the email module data thing, but when it asked to send it I chose do not send now. That was a mistake as it no longer exists on my system. Since I saved the map and settings anyway I can copy it and send it as an attachment and list my specs in the email for evaluation .Live and learn.
One thing that makes no sense is my warranty info with rpms, etc. I'm limited to 5600 rpm on the limiter but it claims I've hit this 7 times. Even have rpm referance for 6100 rpm a couple of times. However the rpm log shows that I've never gone over 4900 rpm. Not sure the engine starts is accurate either as it claims 78 starts in 10000 kilometers. Not super important but would like this fuction to be somewhat more accurate and can't find a way to clear it and start over.
Frank: Thinking it through, I see what you are saying in regards to tuning offsets.

I was just looking at the map 244 thinking it may work better for me but I'm not sure. It looks like they lean out the mixture in the lower rpm ranges which seems counter productive. I would think that would induce pinging but what do I know?! I'm not really happy with the 524 map. I could have used extra fuel on some recent trips. I would like to change my current maps or reload but which one. And which way is better? Reload or alter exsisting? Man my brain is fried!!!!
