Well, just loaded map 524. Took it for a quick rip around the block. Still have some decel pop. One surefire way that it always comes about is if I'm cruising in 2nd at mid rpms for a constant speed for a lil bit and let off the throttle...then a pop always happens. But, I've only got a few miles on it for this map. I'm gonna run it for a tank full and see how it goes. If it's still running the same, then I'm gonna turn on the decel pop feature and see how that works with it. I'll keep you guys up to speed on how it works out. The fact that map 524 is made for the stock head pipe and I'm running Hooker Troublemakers shouldn't effect it too much should it?

her is some tips that may help i have had a tmax for 2 years now. 1st check your air filter because most tmax maps call for a 2.75 wide filter (mine is a 2.25 filter) yours may be a 2.25 filter. if it is 2.25 filter go get a 2.75 wide filter. ok 2nd under closed loop configuration i check the closed loop box......but i leave the auto tune box unchecked this will make your bike run off the map.... auto tune is for track racing it even says it in the manual. so leave the auto tune box unchecked let it run off the map it is still auto tuning to the map it is adjusting for barometric pressure and things of that nature. if you put a check in the auto tune box the computer is trying to change all afr ratios on every map it is bouncing all over the place and that is why you have decel pop i had the same problem. and now i have no decel pop and the bike runs alot better also your mpg will go up because an afr ratio of 13.0 is rich (13.8 is better for everyday driving). please let me know if this helps. i also recommend using the timing map from map 403 it is a well adjusted timing map. but try the first 2 steps if they don't help (which im pretty sure it will cuz it did for me) then try copying the timing map from map 403 transfer it by hand on paper then go back to your map and adjust it to match, under timing vs engine speed, oh and the decel pop function is junk it never worked for me.

I had some decel popping too and finally figured out the the plug on top back side of the throttle body was letting air in when the butterfly was closed. There is a spiggot there for the CA emmission line from from the charcoal canister. Most other states just have a plug on that spiggot. Anyway, have a look and see if that's got a good seal, stop the air from getting in behind the butterfly when it closes.
would thundermax be ok for a highley modded 103.. huge valves, throttle body and cams?
It can be made to do just about anything depending on your skills. This is where it gets tricky. Most canned maps are close at best. Some work ok, some need user editing which is understandable due to no two bikes being the same. Whenever you branch away from the usual builds your work is more extensive with getting it right. I really wish they would expand the map selections to the more builds like 107,113 which are getting popular. Having said that, one or the other build is in my future along with having to come up with a good map for it. Once I'm happy with it, I will send it to whoever could make use of it and cut down their tuning time. I hope others will do the same since hell will likely freeze over before Zipper's gets around to it.

well when i ordered the thunder max i told them i had a 103" 58mm t body the big s e heads and cams to match. i have the bike apart and am currentley installing all the mods now. when the thundermax came from zippers the disc that came with it had a sticky that said it was loaded with map 418.. if it doesnt work i guess ill just put a screaming eagle controller on the bike and take it to the dyno.
