Default Adding "back off" lights

I live in Ft. Lauderdale and I travel the turnpike to work everyday. It seems like everytime I look in my mirror some goof is trying to push me up the highway. Aside from breaking the law, and driving like I'm in a race, can anyone advise some sort of light system I could add on to HD to keep people off my ***. I always keep up with traffic and sometimes go a little faster. But they never fail to pull up behind me and try to give me a push.

I think that is a good idea. A local trooper here (NE) told me only emergency vehicles could have a flashing light and would probably pull me over. Good luck.

I just installed the "BACK-OFF XP" brake light modulator onto my Dyna Low Rider. It has 2 Modes you can choose from. MODE 1 is a set of 4 rapid blink then 1 long blink......then repeats automatically as long as you hold your lever or pedal down. MODE 2 is 5 fast blinks followed by 1 steady on... no repeats.... as long as you hold the brake lever or foot pedal brake on. Works with standard and L.E.D. lights. Cost is 39.95. Very very small unit. Installs under seat.

Here is a link to my post where I have both a LINK to Signal Dynamics who sells the BACKOFF XP unit. Scroll down to my post #6 where I attached a video that shows a fellow installing it on his rice burner set to MODE 1.....THE 4 ON AND REPEAT setting.
Hope this helps. I'm with you with these vehicles riding your butt......way too close.
That's why I bought mine to give them a little wake up call before it was too late.

Hope this helps ya. It's a cheap mod and I'm pleased with my results. I have mine set to MODE 2, and.... I also had my dealer set up a separate button on my right handlebar to activate the optional emergency flasher capability it has. Again, in heavy traffic, this might be something that could benefit you as well. BTW.....they have a complete wiring schematic on their web site for installation. Works on ALL HD'S. Just be sure to get the BACKOFF XP model modulator.

BTW, the previous post said flashing lights might be a problem. This is not a "WIG-WAG" SET UP. It's not a constant ON..flashing like on police or emergency vehicles. Cars and Trucks have "emergency tail light flashers" when their car's are disabled or when they are towing.....so it cant be illegal. HEADLIGHT modulators may be illegal in your state....but not brake lights.

I think the ball bearings or a two foot piece of chain sounds like a cheep method. And easy to install into my pocket. Thank you great idea.
