I've never had this happen even here in S. LA, but you can blow out the water and apply some dielectric grease. The grease should keep water from entering the connector again, and it should be applied at the outset. I didn't use it with my PCIII, which I ran for over two years, but did when I installed my PCV about 15 months ago.

The best choice depends on exactly what the individual wants to achieve.
The idea is to provide the proper injector pulse-width (AFR) at the right time (timing), and the injectors don't know if a PCV or one of the flash-based tuners is used. It is simply receiving instructions, so the net result is the same.

This is true and they are the same connectors used in the stock configuration.

Thirdly the new EITMS (Engine Intermitant Temperature Management System). All the other systems I am aware of disable these functions.
Wrong, EITMS works fine on PC-equipped bikes. All ECU functionality is retained with these devices.

As far as the ECM compensating for changes, it can only change fuel values 3-5% at a time with a maximum of 40%. The main function that determines how rich or lean the engine is running is actually the Ion Sensing. This is done through the coil/sparkplug and read as a hertz value by the ECM through it's clean ground. Yes non OEM plugs and plug wires can distort these numbers and change the way the bike runs. Also attatching accessories to the clean ground can do the same thing. 02 sensors are basically confirming the fuel ratio after combustion has occured. For me anything piggy backing a component is a band aid and more connections increase odds for a connection failure.[/QUOTE]

The ion-sensing function, like all ECU features, is retained after installing the PC.

Connection failure? Thousands of these devices have been sold and used for years. Can you point me to one thread that describes a connection failure other than a very rare report of water intrusion? Water can be repelled by simply using dielectric grease.

There have been a very few reports of bent pins on the connector, but that is easily fixed. I honestly can't understand how you can couple one of these connectors and bend a pin, but it has been done.

Sorry

iclick,

It is obvious you don't know near enough about TTS and SEST products to comment and I damn sure know that I do not understand the PCV product very well and, I could care less to know so I'll just step out of this debate.

I am not an expert on the flash-based tuners and never claimed to be, but I do know enough about them to comment on some statements that have been made here and elsewhere that I believe are not factual. I know much more about the workings of the PCIII and PCV and will also comment on erroneous statements made about those tuners, which is very common here too. I am doing that by asking the originators of these statement to show evidence for their claims, but they never do. Thus, the questions must be asked repeatedly, as they never stop making the claims.
