Default Security system question

Don`t know if this is the right forum for this topic, i have the HD security system but i didn`t get a owners manual or instructions with the bike, bought it used a 01 RG.
When i hold down the fob button the turn signals will flash once and the key light in the speedo flashes.
Does that mean it`s armed and is the key light supposed to keep flashing until i disarm it.
Thanks.

I should add that i`m not sure if that`s a key light i`m seeing but it looks like one, a small red light.
I have a manual ordered but would like to know if its working now.

i have an 03 heritage classic, two quick presses on the button should disarm it. To arm hold button until directional lights blink. When disarmed, no lights on dash should be blinking.
Hope it helps.

Yep that`s how i do it, but when armed does that red little key light supposed to flash until you disarm it.

I looked in the do it yourself forum but couldn`t find the answer.

up to 07 my

hold button - one flash and 2 chirps (if optional siren installed) = armed. Little key light now blinks slowly.

if you come up to your bike and the little key is blinking fast, someone has tried to disarm it via manual code and gotten it wrong (10 min wait until you can manually enter personal code or can disarm immediately with fob.)

2 quick fob button taps disarms or you can enter personal code via blinker switches. You should always set a personal code in case the fob is lost or damaged.

Thanks, mine flashes slowly, no siren chirps. The previous owner couldn`t find the codes they installed.
After i get the owners manual it will prob tell me how to enter different ones.

it's easy - and if you have a friendly dealer it takes them literally 1 min to change them
