Ignition/Tuner/ECM/Fuel InjectionNeed advice on ignition issues? Questions about a tuner? Have questions about a EFI calibration or Fuel Injection? Tips on Engine Diagnostics, how to get codes, and what they mean. Find your answers here.
I have been having some hesitation problems/coughing since installing the PCIII and having it dyno'd. Finally, I decided to look into it. The folks at DynoJet suggesting checking the throttle position. Last night I did just that. It was a bit off. I adjusted both high and idle positions. The hesitation for the most part is now gone. BUT, after starting the engine, I now get the engine light for about 6 seconds. Start procedure: Ignition on, wait for engine light to go out, start. Now, after starting (maybe a second or two), the engine light comes on then extinguishes about 6 seconds later. Never did before. Bike runs fine. What's up?
You logged a code. Sometimes with my Fuelpak I get the same thing. I just go in and clear the code and the light goes away. It is usually P1353 for a code which is a non combustion code. It is common for the modem type fuel processors to have that happen. If the light gets corrected by clearing the code and doesn't return then you should be all set.

First off, before someone (not you dawg) jumps my #$%^, yes, I have manuals.
Can you tell me how to clear the code and, how to determine what code it is?
When I reset the throttle, I did it without the engine running. I suspect this may be why I got the code...don't know.
If you do a search for default trouble codes there is a thread here that tells you how to do it. If you cannot find it, let me know and I will cut and paste. Very easy to do.

DISREGARD...DID A SEARCH....GOT THE ANSWERS.
OK, I'll bite Barry...did you find out what color your air filter is yet LMAO!
Take a look in this forum at the bottom of the upper section right above the blue line seperator, you'll find what you are looking for depending on what bike you have, sorry my crystal ball can't tell me that!.
Filter rubber is black. Loctite was blue. Bike is 06 EG classic (FWIW, blackcherry).
Glide, that post above that line went to 05 but I suspect may be true for 06.
EDITED: Just checked the codes per section Glide mentioned. This is the procedure also for 06's (maybe 07's?). Code was P1004. Cleared it and it didn't come back.
