Default ecm ?s

I just bought a 2004 fxsti and i normally run the tts master tune,,,,But i want to vtune and there or no o2 sensors on the 2004 ,,,So im was wondering if i re-flashed with map from a later model and added in some o2 sensors would work ,,,or would i have to replace the ecm and add some o2 sensors,,,,I guessing the plug will match up,,,because i see that zippers tmax is listed as 2001 -2010,,,or if there is a easier route ,,,let me know,,,Thanks

I thought you can run an 05 processor in your bike, and then add the O2 sensors to get it to work correctly- I believe it even says so in the TTS manual. Would be an okay deal if you can find a head pipe with the bosses, and an 05 ECU pretty cheap.

Found a 2006 dyna ecm,,,

I dont guess any major changes where made with the fuel injection from 2004 though 2006,,,,,,I looked though tts manual and found the changes to the ecm,,,over the years ,,,Thanks,,,and and see that softail and dyna mapping or the same,,,,,so if i get the ecm ,,im going to have to see if it works before i marry it to the tts ,,,,,Is there anything im missing here,,,,

I just dug through it as well, I think the 2006 dyna was the first to run closed loop for the big twins. If you have access to a dyna ECU and can wire the O2 sensors up, I don't see why it wouldn't work. I would definitely give Steve @ TTS a call, though. He can probably answer off the top of his head, and he will have a definite answer as opposed to what I'm telling you. I do believe you'd have to get a dealer to flash the ECU for you first with your bike's VIN.

Honestly I love the TTS, but I'm not sure I'd go through the effort of retrofitting the ECU and O2 sensors to the bike in order to tune it. It could be tuned without it, but would require dyno time with somebody that has a wideband A/F meter.

The Thundermax would be plug and play, and include the wideband O2's as well. I don't know if the Revolution Performance EMS is going to be available for your bike, I'm on the fence about that particular unit as it seems you have zero control of the calibration and it just completely autotunes on it's own without your input. At least you have control over the Thundermax.

Im going to give steve a call monday ,,,I hoping they can reset my tts module ,,being i lost my bike in a fire and only had it for a year,,I looked up the ecm vin and from what i found ,,was that the everything will work,,, just when you marry the tts it will have the ecm vin and not your bikes unless it get changed,,,,like you have brought to my attention ,,,,,and tts maps are the same for the softail and dyna in 2006,,,so im guess it will start right up,,,Would you know the price of a ecm vin flash ? ,,,

Hopefully they aren't jerks and will reset it for you. I would think losing your bike in a fire would be enough of a circumstance that they'd take care of it or send you a new unit or something.

I've heard the ECU download from Harley is around $150, however I'm not sure if they're flexible on price or not. I would imagine they would reprogram an '06 ECU with your VIN info, too.

Talked to steve today and explained,,, i have TTS that was only a year old and i lost my bike in a fire two weeks ago,,, was there a way to reset the tts ,,,He said" Nope "Thats why it was designed that way,,it only works with one bike,,,so on to the next question,,,about the 2006 conversion on a 2004 softail,,,,,his response ,,The conversion steps are in the TTS manual along with Harley part numbers,,,appendix table 8,,,Then explained the step over the phone and said that the 06 dyna ecm would work on my bike and didnt not have to bring it to a dealer to get it programed ,,,if i didnt want to,,,So i called the dealer anyway just to get a price ,,,and they said it would be $45.00 for the vin and stock program or i could do it manually ,,,so i think for $45.00 i could let them do it,,,,,,So things are looking good ,,I won the ebay bid on the 2006 ecm for $36.00 and and got prices on parts listed by tts for the conversion ,,,O2 and pins ect total up to around $96.00...I gotta go in tomorrow to place an order on the parts,,,Im relieved i going to be able to run vtune,,,

Cool. Glad it's coming together! The ECU flash from the dealer is cheaper than I was expecting.
