This is an interesting discussion on knock events.
After a few false starts and lengthy learning curve I finally got to a point where I had my VEs dialed in also and using LT almost totally eliminated knock events on my 07 Electraglide with a FM supplied package. Then, yesterday I go up to the lakes region of NH and need gas and all you can buy up there is 91 octane 10% ethanol gas, and all of a sudden I start collecting knock events on my rear cylinder. 1 on the front and 10 on the rear in the next 150 miles home.
I've been told that the gas changes here in New England this time of year and through the winter months. I wonder if that's my issue? I highly suspect it is.
I have struggled with knock events ever since I started on this journey with the PV. Bike also runs great and almost all of these knock events I could not hear, but that damn PV on the Handlebar records every one of them. ,,,Maybe I should take it off the handlebar, and stuff it in the saddlebags.
I thought I had a exhaust leak for the longest time, but have never been able to find it and 2 HD dealers also say I have no exhaust leak. I am beginning to wonder of I have a exhaust sensor that is gone south, as I have read they do fail with age.
Learning how to use LogTuner has been a great help, but just when I think I'm all dialed in I wonder of I've maybe got a flat spot on the top end and start tinkering again.
Glad you guys suggested I just enjoy the ride.
I live in Colorado where all you can get is 10% ethanol. Have driven myself crazy trying to eliminate the knock events my PV was recording and ultimately gave up. This year in Sturgis, I was able to get 91 octane real gas without the ethanol blend...Not a single knock event was recorded during my entire week there using the real gas and the same tune I was using at home. The bike also ran much better with better pick up and acceleration. Came back to Colorado and as soon as I started having to fill with Ethanol blend again, knock events started coming back and doesn't run nearly as well.
With that said, I am no expert on any of this and only know what I have learned from following this thread. But I have to believe that the crap ethanol is highly responsible. Does anyone know of a good additive to use to counter the effects of the ethanol blend, as I have no options not to put that junk in my tank.

Not according to pure-gas.org. Here's the list of stations in Colorado that sell non-ethanol gas. If you have an Android or iPhone you can get an app from them that comes in handy when your on the road looking for good gas.
Granted, it's only 45 stations in your state so hopefully there's one near where you live. Fortunately for me, there's well over 700 in my state including the station 3 blocks from my house. Good luck.

I envy you. Yeah, I looked at the list before I did the post. The majority of them are on the western slope and would need a full tank of fuel just to get to them, and the ONE in Colorado Springs is only 88 Octane and 45 minutes in the opposite direction that I normally travel from/to. Wouldn't be able to consistently use any of them.
Wonder if the wife will let me purchase a 500 gallon fueling tank to put in the yard and I can bulk up?

Was a tune done on a dyno? If so it's always best to bring bike to tuner with the cheap crap that we get locally. This way he's tuning with that. Then if you do find some better quality on your trips and riding around, then all the more better. But to answer your question, yes it can certainly have an effect on the bike. I'm not a big believer in Octane boost products but some say it works for them.. Might be worth a shot to grab a couple of bottles from HD next time you're there and try it out.
I want to save a tune (as backup) made by my Dyno guy from the PV to my computer, when I select get tune it pulls the tune into the winpv screen but does not bring it's title over, instead it names it untitled.pvt. I want the name of the tune exactly as it is on my PV but I can't read all of it due to character limits on that particular screen.
How do I read the full name of the .pvt tune? Or is there a way to bring over the file name when I "get tune" from winpv?
Did you "Load Copy Of Original" from the ECM to the PV?' Or "Load Copy of Current" Not sure which it will do, But original or current being the Dyno Tune you want to save. Anyway when you use WinPV to "Get Tune" from the PV it will be untitled so "Open" it and look in the top folder of theTune Items tree "Tune Info" It will have "Calibration ID","Description" of the tune it was generated from. You can edit and add info then click "File", "Save As" and rename it anything you like. I save tunes by the date modified until I have one that I'll use for Summer,Winter, Crap Gas E10.etc....

Hey guys. I just switched from tts over to a power vision. I got my fuel moto tune into my ECM and all is good. One problem I have now is how do I calibrate my speedometer? I have a 30t pulley installed so the speedo need some correction. Is there any way to do this with the power vision? Thanks

Look under gear ratios.
change it by adding 6.5% to it which is the size difference from 32 to 30. sent you a PM about your TTS/cables also.
