On the PV, Vehicle Tools->Vehicle Info. Calibration ID. You can set the Calibration ID to a unique value for each map using winPV.
Which would be great if I was using WinPV for all the tunes... Ive been using the autotune function and saving to a new slot more often than using the laptop and WinPV... A month later, it's a question if I'm using the highest numbered one, or, if I dropped back, which one I dropped back to... All I want to see is what slot(map) is loaded on the ECM currently... Thanks for the response, though....I appreciate the info and will use it on the maps I work with on the laptop.

It would be nice if autotune made a unique Cal. ID for each map when it is saved. Cal. ID is the only map specific value I know of that you can read from the PV to check which map is loaded. Unfortunately Autotune saves maps using the original map Cal.ID.
The easiest way I've found to verify your current map is to use the load current tune function and then view it on win pv. I suspect that's not what u wanted to hear but that's the way I ended up doing it. Notepad and pen also works well lol.

Hi,
yeah I understand now, i dont have winPV and just autotune on PV at the moment
When I down load a custom tune should I go to "open loop"? I have stock narrow band sensors.
No. You should try to keep the majority of the map in closed loop so that the ECM can adjust to changing environmental and fuel mixture conditions. This helps the ECM ensure that it's hitting your lambda targets in open loop as well.
If I want to richen up the new tune should I go to enrichment and add globally?
You could, but you'll probably end up just wasting fuel. What are you trying to achieve (more performance or less heat)? Do you always want to sacrifice fuel for performance, or only when you when you rag on it? If the latter, then you only really want to enrichen for power in those parts of the map which (in your riding style) represent you "going for it". sub-3k RPM and small TPS% are probably best left pretty lean.
Can I write my own map over the new tune giving AFR values?
I'm not sure what you mean by that question, but the answer is probably yes :-)
Trying to cool it down. Working on 2014 with V andH tru duals. The pipe by the primary gets real hot
Gotcha. Do you spend a lot of time in traffic? I do and cut heat dramatically by reducing lambda to afr 13.8 equivalent for all entries up to 1500rpm. You wont use much fuel at idle anyway so this is a cheap start. If that doesn't work then start by reducing closed loop block afr but keep in closed loop (ie afr equivalent 14.2 upwards)
Edit: but start by ve tuning first or you are just going to confuse yourself.
Just kind of wondered...I have a 2012 bike and my PV software and firmware are up to date as of the last (pre 2014 bikes) update. Is there really any reason to do this last update? My PV works great and I don't want to risk screwing it up with new software unless there is a benefit to pre 2014 bikes.
Good question, I have not updated either, glad I didn't because there was some prob with log tuner not being able to read log files a short time back. I don't know if that has been cleared up yet.Saw the workaround fix in this forum but I just didn't want to hassle with it when it works fine as is pre"14"version.
