speedo problems
The speedo on my 03 Heritage stopped working so I pulled and cleaned the speed sensor but no change. Then I purchased from thunder heart a billet sensor but it had a three wire configuration where as the heritage has a two wire. Thunder heart sent me a install sheet showing the extra wire on the sensor as ground, black being signal, and red being power. I tried running the stripped wires from the sensor into the pin holes of the connector on the bike ignoring the green or ground. The bike wouldn`t even fire up. With the old sensor installed it runs fine, just no speedometer. Could it be as easy as just buying the oem from Harley and be done with it. I`ve even tried a known to be working speedo from another bike but no luck still.
