Default Shorting out on my left handle bar controls

As they say no good deed goes un-punished. I put a coffee cup colder on my 2005 FLHTCI. Everything seemed to be fine; a buddy asked to borrow it for his trip so I removed it and gave it to him. I put the cup holder back on when I got it back from him, well within a few days I hit a huge pump and blew a fuse, my speedo, tach, directional’s and brake lights went out while riding in to Boston. I took it to my local Harley dealer and they put a new fuse in it, said they couldn’t find anything wrong. Within days I blew another fuse, back it went, same BS, we couldn’t find anything, we put a new fuse in and, oh, here’s your bill. I blew that fuse as well. I put another fuse and made some adjustments to the wiring, then I took it to another local guy who said he couldn’t make it blow, reset the codes and it was fine for 8 month. Putting in fuel I inadvertently, hit the coffee cup holder with the nozzle. Yup, it started again. I bet I’ve screwed with this enough times to have replaced 20 fuses. I’ve tapped and re-tapped I’ve even used liquid tape to no avail.
Anyone have any thoughts?
Is that harness replaceable fairly easy, could it be the switch or is this bike haunted?
I would appreciate your thoughts

Thanks
