2012 Electrical Problems?

2012 Electrical Problems?
Hello all,
Today, while riding with the group, my check engine light and battery light both came on. A quick check showed charge voltage at 11 Volts. It normally shows 16, and I was told 16 is normal.
I immediately returned home, not knowing if it would restart should I shut it down. I noticed on the ride home that the charge voltage would drop to about 10 volts, slowly build to 14, the idiot lights would go off and it would hang at 14 for a few minutes. Then, the voltage would drop, the lights would come on and remain that way for several minutes, when the whole process would start over.
I heard that Harley was aware of the problem but weren't sure how they were going to handle it. Has anyone else had this problem or know anything about it?
