Could be wrong here but I have two on my 2004 FI. Know carb system only has one. I think if yours is carb its in fuse box and only for start system. Your ignition module is fed thru the 15 amp ign glass fuse thru the ignition key switch. Bet your problem is in the switch contact from wear and or corrosion. Mine has the start relay and the ignition since the FI requires timers built into the relay due to the fuel pump working at key on for a few second and then will only run if engine is running and the crank position sensor knows engine is running. To me checking is a simple matter of pulling it and applying 12 volts to it and measureing resistance accross the other two connections with it pulled in. If your puzzled on what two to put 12 volts on, With the ohm resistance meter connected to the terminals the relay ones will show resistance. Once you find that. The other two should show open. They will show little to no resistance when you put the 12 volts to the the correct two,
