Default Installing a combination speedometer/tachometer

I have a 2010 Heritage. I bought an hd combination speedometer/tachometer gauge kit.

Has anybody installed one of these?

Do you have any suggestions when installing?
Did you have any problems when doing the odometer copying process?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It's pretty much a plug'n play. Odometer copying process?? Never heard of that one... normally get the speedo from HD and they set the mileage before shipping. That one I'll need to google up.

Yeah the new ones come with a procedure to plug into the data port connector and program the speedo. Basically what it does is calibrate the speedo mileage with the mileage stored in the ECM.

We have installed these newer gauges. You just have to follow the instructions as you first plug it into the data port and the speedo will pull information that is stored in the ECM such as the current mileage. Once this process is complete you can just plug n play w/ the new gauge. This is a much better setup than for older models where you had to have the mileage pre-set on the gauge from the manufacturer of the gauge.
