Default 2006 injectors

There's a similar thread in the general section, but I'd like to ask the same questions here: I just bought a used 2006 with 8 degree injectors. I don't notice any problems. Is there any benefit to the 25 degree injectors, if I'm not having any problem with the 8 degree ones? The bike has 5,000 miles about; are problems likely to develop over time? Also, anyone know of any dealers in the So.Cal area that might change out the injectors even if there aren't obvious problems right now? Also, I'm curious as to how big a problem this is; anyone know roughly what percentage of bikes with 8 degree injectors have any problems? Finally, anyone know why HD went to 8 degree injectors in the first place; I think they were first introduced in the 2006 model year, and then the 25 degree injectors started being used in Feb. of 06. Thanks.

If your bike was build before march 1 of 2006, yes you need have them change, you should be noticing that when you take off cold for first time it may die on you are try, that is the problem if your not having that then you may be good but, I have them updated, its no cost.

I was having cold-start problems with my '06 FLHX, and even after warming up for a couple minutes, it would cough and sputter when I'd first take off from a stand-still. It wouldn't run smoothly until I had gone enough miles to get her good and hot. I read in another forum about the fuel injectors, and an HD maintenance bulletin directing dealers to change them out under warranty to the 25 degree spray. I took it in and had 'em switched out with no questions. Ran like a different beast after that. Zero problems.

Get 'er done. Even ifyou don't think you'rehaving problems, you might notice a little pep that you didn't feel before.

I'd sure like a dealer to change them, for peace of mind if nothing else, but I've called a couple of dealers (So. Cal.) and they're pretty strict about following the Service Bulletin requierments. That is, they aren't going to change them unless there's a real problem. Also, the fact that I've got SERT and pipes may complicate things; they seem to say if there's any problems, its with the map and / or pipes; or at least these have to be ruled out first. Again, I really haven't noticed any problems yet.
