Default PC111 Water

I was in Daytona this week, rode for 70 miles in storm, on Sunday my bike started to act up, first thing I did was un plug my PC111 and water poured out of the connection of the two cables, unreal the water in the connection. Anyone got suggestions. Plus wanted to let those know who put it under the batter box as I did like instruction call for you better ck it if you get in rain.

I'm not sure if this would have helped but the instructions I read suggest di-electric grease should besmeared on the two ends before they are snapped together to keep moisture out.

Mine did a similar thing.I rode about 60 - 70 miles in the rain. The bike was doing some unusual things. Idisconnected the PCIII and all is well. Mine is in the saddle bag and may stay there until I find a buyer.

The PCIII is sealed. No water should have gotten in it.
If it did, send it in for a replacement.

I ride in the rain constantly and have not had a problem.

Do you have the rubber plugs in the USB and battery connection holes?

The water gets in through the back of the HD connector. They use those plastic pins to fill voids where there are no pins or connectors and they are not water proof. The PCIII side of the connector is completely sealed.

It was the connector, not the uint its self that got the water in it. I move it under the side cover now.

I had the same problem when I was in Colorado last year. I was at the dealer when it started running bad. They looked at the PC and the connector wasfull of water. They said that they see this all of the time. He said when they install them they put them in a heavy plastic bag. Theycleaned out the water and put mine in a plastic bag. I never had a problem after that.

Are you talking about the connection that is supposed to be slid under the battery box? Is that the one that gets full of water?

I thought about this when I installed mine 2 weeks ago. I used the di-grease, plugged them together then wrapped entirely with black electrical tape, then put inside a sealed plastic bag. Stuffed it all under battery box.

Ride Safe,

Mike
