My street glide dies at idle cold or hot dosent stumble just dies like someone turned something off. Then is hard to start almost like flooded have to crack throttle to fire back up. Has Rienhardt exhaust and a dynojet commander 3 I noticed also that the exhaust has bungs for o2 sensors but no sensors and the wiring harness plugs are capped off don't know if when installing commander you suppose to remove o2 sensors or not I bought bike this way so I am unsure. Mainly wondering about the dying issue bike runs great no problem when throttle is cracked even at stop when I crack the throttle to 1100 rpms it wont die. Can anyone give me some tip or hints on what to check anything would be great thanks
With the dynojet the O2 sensors are eliminated. If it's not something in the map I would start with these:
Make sure all battery and ground connections are clean and tight.
Get some throttle body cleaner and give the IAC a good cleaning.
Pull the air cleaner off and look for oil/deposits around the throttle plate it is critical that the air gap around the plate is clean. try cleaning with carb cleaner possible iac valve as stated above..
I have check the fuel filter housing pulled the retaining ring and cover off the tank and watch everything as I turned ignition on the only fuel I noticed coming out of anything was what I figured to be the regulator at the end of the filter housing. No cracks and nothing coming from fuel filter cover. On the IAC valve advice I have looked and my bike doesn't actually have one, that was one of the first things I was told to check. I was wondering if anyone has had a problem with crank position sensor or the throttle body motor and thanks for all the info
Don't mean you any disrespect but I have had people tell me that it is my IAC looked and couldn't find it went to local Harley guy and found out that my bike doesn't have one I am guessing they did away with them in 2008 I am guessing they use the throttle plate motor to regulate the idle now I know on my trucks at work that they to use to have IAC valves but know no long have them. but that being said has anyone had a issue with this motor or I was also told the crank position sensor anybody have problems with either of these thanks for all the input so far
