Ok, I have asked this before but I keep getting this code. I changed the crank sensor then did continuity check on all the wires and they checked out good but still get the same thing. Harley has no idea what is causing this but that I lost the ground. So I replaced the ground wire but still get it. I know in the 110 years Harley has been around that I'm not the only one that has this problem. 4 different shops still can't figure it out. So if anyone out there knows anything about any fixes other than blow it up please let me know.

What year & model of bike do you have?

Most of the flow charts have only four outcomes.
Repair open in black wire
Repair open in red wire
Replace CKP
Replace ECM

Do you have anything plugged in at the ECM like a power commander or anything like that?

Has anybody flashed the ECM with any sort of flash tuner?

Lots of things to answer before anyone can help you I think.

The bike is a 04 Road King and it's a carb bike. It has a Daytona Twin-Tec ignition module. Other than that it's all Harley.

See that would have been good to know in the first place that you are NOT running a HD ignition module. Even DTT recommend to put the HD ignition module back in for trouble code diagnosis. DTT also offer a firmware upgrade for your TC88A ignition module that might also fix the error if you want to contact them.

DIAGNOSTICS AND DATA LOGGING
When the ignition switch is first turned on, the check engine LED illuminates.
The LED will go out when the engine is started.
If a diagnostic fault is detected, the LED will illuminate.
The TC88A provides support for H-D Ž scan tools.
You can connect a scan tool, display the system ID, display and clear trouble codes, and monitor real time data.
Since the TC88A uses the same diagnostic trouble codes as the OE module, you can use the troubleshooting flowcharts in the factory service manual.
However, the TC88A is an aftermarket product and its diagnostics are oriented towards performance applications.
Rationality check limits are broadened.
Some OE diagnostics, such as VSS (vehicle speed sensor) failure and lost data bus communications, are eliminated to provide compatibility
with custom bike applications that may not include all of the OE sensors, TSM/TSSM (turn signal/security module), and instrument cluster.
For maximum hardware fault coverage, we suggest that you reinstall the OE module during diagnosis.
The TC88A features built-in data logging that stores data for the last 30 minutes of engine operation including RPM,
vehicle speed, manifold pressure, ignition advance, and battery voltage.
Engine builders will find the data logging feature highly useful for tuning, diagnosing problems, and reducing unjustified warranty claims.
An optional USB interface cable (P/NUSB-INTF) and TC88A Log software are required to access the data logging feature.
TC88A Log software also allows you to view engine data in real time and display operating statistics and historical diagnostic codes.
For more details, refer to the TC88A Log documentation.
The latest versions of Twin Tec software and documentation are always available for download on our website.
The software is free and will work in demo mode without a TC88A module attached.
