Default Happy SERT customer

I installed my new Big Radius pipes a couple weeks ago along with a Big Sucker air cleaner and finally got access to a laptop computer and used my SERT. I have to say I am very impressed with how easy it was to load a new MAP to the ECM. I don't have any poping on deceleration and the bike fires up right away, not to mention how much quicker the bike is. I currently have installed MAP #23 141NP101 but I was looking around a little more and found another MAP #32 141NX002 looks to be the same except for the "Closed Loop". I have a 2006 Deuce with a stock motor with 8 degree injectors. Can someone tell me about "Closed Loop" and if I need to switch to a different MAP?

If you have O2 sensors then you should be able torun closed loop.

Your bike is an 06 softtail and can't use closed loop programs. If you are planning on having your bike dyno tuned (which I would recomend) then map 23 is the one you want. If you're not, or can't do it right away, then you might want to consider running map 24. I realize it is for a 1550, but your map and parts combo tends to run rather lean across the board, and 24 will richen you up enough to keep you in a safe zone.

Have to agree with dynodude...........have seen several '05 and '06 1450 Stage 1s(pipes and breather, no O2 sensors) that performed much better with the 1550 Stage 1 canned map! If your not satisfied, switching back to previous canned map is very simple.

IMO, the'06 and earliernon-closed loop maps are still a bit on the lean side.

Well, if your V&Hare just slip-ons, then the 57 map should be ok. If your V&H is a full true dual system then you might want to give 53 a shot. It's mainly for softtails, but has better balance in the front and rear VE tables that are better matched for your true duals. But I can,t stress enough that these maps are in no way correct for either combination. The only thing the unedited SERT maps are good for is the parts combinations that are in the matrix. And they are only marginally good for that because they have to work on bikes in all enviroments, kind of a one-size-fits-all. If you vary from the parts in the cal file matrix, then you really should find a good tuner, and have your bike properly mapped on a dyno.
