But if it's still the factory code, someone could disable the alarm by entering that code right? Maybe you could put the old module back, change the code, then put TMAX back in. I've already changed my code, so I wonder if it will default back the factory number...just have to wait and see.
With the thunder-max auto tune does the engine light work the same, as far as coming on when a sensor or the like goes bad? I was reading in the instructions that I downloaded that the engine light with the auto tune will come on if the head temps get to high and didn't know if that meant it would not come on if a sensor or the like went out?

After thinking about it for a while, I think that the code to start the bike without a fob, is stored inside the factory ECU. When I replaced the stock ECU with the Thunder-Max, the start code no longer works. If I can't start the bike without my fob, nobody can. Works for me!Just don't lose your fob.
So when you turn key on then hit both turn signal switches within a second, it doesn't even show flashing digits on the odometer to enter a code? Maybe like you say it just doesn't even support that function with tmax. Sorry for jackin' the thread by the way.
Good to hear...I planned on ordering one within the next couple weeks. Its pricey at almost 900, but seems worth it if you plan to upgrade beyond pipes and a/c in the future.

Nope, it doesn't flash on the speedometer. I called Randy at Zipper's and asked him if there were any reported problems with the start code after a Thunder-Max installation. He said that there were reported problems, and that they are working on it. He said a motorcycle manufacturer had written them about the problem (Could be Harley Dealers complaining, I don't know). Your Road King may not be experiencing this problem, but my Heritage seems to be affected. Not a big deal, I'll just try not to lose my FOB. He also said that anytime a new map comes out for your bike's configuration, download it, as it is an improvement over the previous map. Don't forget to re-initialize the ECU after a new map is downloaded.
